Take every thought captive

Whatever you put your mind to, it will grow. If you fill your mind with thoughts that are anxious, negative, depressing, regrets, past mistakes, or anything that steals your peace and joy, it will grow! The opposite is true of putting your mind to healthy habits it will grow…

Few strategies in developing a healthy mind:

: Cultivating a attitude of gratitude. Stop looking at what is going wrong and start looking at what is going right. Find the good everyday! There is always something to be thankful for!

: When a thought comes in that is negative or depressing, immediately take that thought captive by not allowing it to grow. Instead, change it with a good thought and the word of God. This will take time but if you are continually mindful of your thoughts you will be able to catch negative thoughts and change them.

: By the Holy Spirit we can get grace and power to bring the thoughts into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and in this process, we become transformed into the person He wants us to be. We have the wonderful hope that by overcoming sin in our thought life, we can become a little more like Christ as each day progresses. In this way, we become valuable tools in God’s hands. Allowing this inner work of God to take place in us is the greatest task we can take on in life.

Our thoughts are powerful. They’re the motivation behind every action. Our thoughts can corrupt us or transform us. Lets chose to be transformed. His Word says we have everything we need for a godly {thought} life (2 Peter 1:3)

Here is some scriptures that you can use to transform your mind.

2 Corinthians 10:5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ

Philippians 4:8-9 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

Luke 6:45 A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.

Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

2 Corinthians 10:3-5 For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

Ephesians 4:22-23 To put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds.
